And so we enter June!
May was extraordinarily busy, with lessons galore…. I updated you last month on all our activity in Cheam High and Oaks Park, and thank you for your prayers. We’ve delivered our series of Money workshops which went better than expected, and we’ve already been asked to come back next year, and Oaks Park have booked us in for next January!
GSUS at Cheam High was a resounding success, and the teacher has already booked us to return next year. And I’m finishing off the Self Esteem lessons over the next 2 weeks. Please pray that our continued contact with Cheam High will reap dividends for God’s Kingdom.
I spoke to our wonderful friends at St Paul’s lunch club who expressed delight when I told them all about our work, and in June I will be speaking at the morning services for St Michael’s and All Angels, Wallington and Holy Trinity Wallington, so I may see some of you there.
Our Giving of the 5000 is beginning to gather pace. If you need to know more then please check out our website for details. Every penny raised goes directly to providing more opportunities for young people to hear a Christian believer talk about their faith, so please consider giving £1 per month if at all possible!
In June I will be speaking once more at Cheam High, this time to the GCSE students, delivering our very popular and effective Persecuted Christians workshop. I’ve also arranged another Grill a Christian session, this time at Carshalton Girls for Wednesday 17th June. Please pray that our wonderful volunteers will be inspired by the Spirit to give challenging, informative responses.
And our CU continue to provide support and encouragement to our students across the various schools. We still haven’t been able to progress with Oaks Park though. Something’s getting in the way there, so please pray for that particular obstacle to be overcome.
And I continue to try and engage with a teacher at Glenthorne to see if we can start a CU within that school.
Thank you for your continued support and prayers!
Simon

- THANK YOU GOD for the 20 schools we have booked in for the Y6 Transition to Secondary School workshop (Transit) over the coming half term before the Summer break! Please pray that the Y6s we interact with over the coming weeks not only get a better practical understanding of how they can face the changes, challenges and choices in their move to secondary school, but also that they can know that God wants to be there with them to help and guide them in this next season and beyond!
- PLEASE PRAY for the Summer 2 assemblies, which are all on the theme of ‘Looking Forward’, with a focus on the story of Moses parting the Red Sea. Please pray for the children and school staff who will hear the assembly this half term, that they can feel God’s comfort and know His care through anything worrying them about the future. May hearing the assembly be an opportunity to recognise that they NEVER have to face challenges and uncertainty alone and that Jesus longs to be friends with them and come alongside them.
- THANK YOU GOD that schools have already started securing their workshop bookings for next year and that some potentially unexpected schools have asked us in for lots of different year groups. Please pray that God stirs hearts and minds in the school staff who are in charge of making bookings, so that we have the opportunity to work with as many children as we can across the next academic year and tell them the truth about who Jesus is and how He can change their lives!
- PLEASE PRAY for protection over the SSW staff and volunteer team, that we can be protected from health issues and illness and that God can equip us with ALL we need for the coming half term of bookings.
- PRAISE GOD for His goodness and mercy towards us each new day!
‘The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.’ Lamentations 3 v 22-23
We have had a fun half term, telling the story of the wise and foolish builders, and encouraging children to make good wise choices, asking God for His help and the people in their lives.
- PLEASE PRAY that staff and children would remember that God is always with them, especially during the stormy seasons of life.
Schools have already started booking their primary assemblies for the next academic year! Ten schools have booked for all six half terms!
- PLEASE PRAY for swift responses from our regular schools and for new bookings in schools we haven’t visited for sometime: Hackbridge, Muschamp, Seaton House and Sutton High.
We are so thankful to God for great ongoing relationships with almost all of the primary schools in Sutton!
- PLEASE PRAY for open doors into Beddington Park, Collingwood, Harris Academy and Homefield.
- PLEASE PRAY for health, strength, protection and joy for our wonderful team!
Thank you for your continued support and prayers!
